Bristol Sundown Rotary Club is a new Rotary club in the Bristol area.
We have a mix of members drawn from numerous backgrounds - marketing, law, pharmacy, engineering, surveying to name just a few. We are all young-ish business people who want to give something back to our communities whilst having fun in the process.
If you come along to a meeting, you might find that we are having a few drinks or a meal, visiting a place of interest, listening to a speaker or organising our next event. Each week is different and you should have a look at our calendar of events to see what we are up to. We would really love to see you at one of our meetings. Just contact us to come along.
What is Rotary?
Bristol Sundown Rotary is part of Rotary International - the world's largest service organisation. There are over 1.2 million Rotarians around the world, and some 58,00 in Great Britain and Ireland in 1845 clubs. Being a Rotarian is about devoting your time, energy and professional skills to particular projects to help the local community - it is about service above self.
But aren't all Rotarians retired and male?
Bristol Sundown in different and we want to show that Rotary is applicable today as it has ever been. We are a mixed gender group and all under 45, in fact our youngest member is 24, but what makes us part of the Rotary family, and identical to those 65 year old men, is that we devote our time, energy and skills to serving our community.
What can we do for you?
We can introduce you to like minded people who want to help their local communities, raise money and socialise. As you will be part of an international organisation which attracts a huge number of different professions, you will get to network with your professional peers and enhance your company profile through working in the local community.
What you can do for us?
Being a Rotarian is about devoting your time, energy and professional skills to particular projects to help the local community - is is about service above self. All we ask is that you get as involved as you can and get stuck in - whether that be by organising an event, shaking a bucket in town to raise money for a good cause or marshalling an event and cheering on your fellow Rotarians. It is about making a difference.
